Mobile Web… It’s Here, It’s Growing
It’s no surprise that mobile phones have taken over the world. I’ve never really been without one and personally I don’t know anyone who hasn’t got a mobile. So we all have mobile phones and we use it daily, but can’t say the same about the mobile web. Even though it has been around for ages it still seems a novelty and your average mobile phone owner would think of it as a hassle of slow loading paging, unoptimized content and a pain to make use of on a small device. In this article that I’ve found it says that in September there were around 237 million wireless subscribers in the US, but only about 32 million actually accessed the Internet.
It also says that there a growth in that market can be expected, which I fully agree with.
The mobile Internet has been neglected over the past years. But I think that’s about to change… Have you seen some of the cool phones that have been released recently? Bigger screens, faster connections, optimized and ready to surf. Sms marketing and mobile marketing are on the rise and certainly will be increasing.
I think the mobile Internet offers plenty of opportunities and could become very popular and handy for businesses. There’s services especially dedicated to getting businesses on the mobile web.
And as more and more people will use the mobile Internet, as a business owner you will want to seriously look into getting a mobile website. Pretty exciting I think.
I think having a wap site will be a crucial factor for online success and smart people will realize that if they haven’t already.
