Internet Overload?
I used to wonder if ever there’ll come a point when the Internet reaches it’s limits… Most would say that this seems highly unlikely since we keep adding to our existing technology to hold more data and files.
Jim Cicconi recently said that the Internet could very well reach capacity by, as early as 2010.
The vice president for AT&T suggested an investment of at least $55bn to avoid this scenario.
I think the enormous increase of videos on the net might pose a real issue here. There currently is no limit as to how many videos, as dumb as they may be, you can upload and share over sites like YouTube.
