I’m glad I am not a chef, I couldn’t kill any lobster, nor anything else. I’ve always felt really bad for lobsters that are put into a pot of boiling water alive and after reading about lobsters and prawns actually feeling pain, even more so. Scientist used to argue that rustaceans don’t feel any pain even when cooked alive but recent study suggests that they very much do. However, opinions are still split.
Now I like prawns occasionally, not so much into lobster and I’ve only eaten it once, cooked from frozen, but whether or not they feel pain, boiling to death just can’t be pleasant for any living creature. At least kill them quick before you boil them.
