WWII Army Bag, Lost And Found

A blast from the past: Alec Ross, from Burnley, lost a bag with personal belongings while serving with the 8th Army. Now an egyptian tour guide has found it in the Sahara desert and traced the guy down! Unfortunately he died 3 years ago but the bag is being sent to Burnley to Mr Ross’s sister, Irene Porter.

According to Mrs Porter, who was only eight years old when he was serving in Egypt, her brother was a member of a unit known as Popski’s Private Army, one of a number operating behind enemy lines.

I think things like that are amazing, what are the chances after so many years? Just a shame that they didn’t find the bag sooner.
