Everybody’s talking about the “pregnant man”. The pregnancy story makes headlines across the world and they are rather misleading.

Thomas Beatie, 34, was born a woman. There is no science miracle going on here and personally I don’t quite get why “his” pregnancy gets such tremendous media attention.

Mr Beatie, of Bend, Oregon, had breast surgery to remove glands and flatten his chest after deciding to become a man 10 years ago.

He is now married to a woman and says has a stable male identity. They wanted a child, they used donor sperm, he got pregnant. Big deal. Good for them.

I would imagine this isn’t the first case either. It just so happens to get all the press coverage all over the globe which is getting annoying. They make out for it to be a first- ever, when in fact, Thomas Beatie is partly still female.
