Gone With The Wind: Guy Places £6,000 Engagement Ring In Balloon, Floats Away. Duh.
I’m not sure whether this was such a “romantic” idea, but it certainly was a very dumb idea. Some guy, Lefkos Hajji, was going to propose to his girlfriend in a slightly…unusual… flighty way: He put her engagement ring into a silver helium balloon and was gonna give his fiance a pin to literally “pop the question”.
Too bad that he didn’t think about what balloons normally do if you do not watch carefully; they float away… and so did this one.
Poor guy, he even tried to follow it across London and eventually had to give up. £6,000 gone with the wind… naturally his girlfriend wasn’t happy.
He said:
“I couldn’t believe it. I just watched as it went further and further into the air.
“I felt like such a plonker. It cost a fortune and I knew my girlfriend would kill me.
“I though I would give Leanne a pin so I could literally pop the question.”
Plonker. LOL
