Dying To Blog…In Iran

It’s incredibly depressing to see that some countries still detest time and freedom. The Iranian parlament has voted to discuss a draft bill that seeks to “toughen punishment for disturbing mental security in society.”  Which would be “establishing websites and weblogs promoting corruption, prostitution and apostasy,” punishable by death. Personally I think this is another dangerous step towards eliminating what doesn’t please the goverment.

The recent years have already been tough enough for Iranian bloggers. Some bloggers have been sent to jail and sites were heavily filtered.

If the Iranian parliament approves this draft bill, bloggers fear they could be legally executed as criminals. No one has defined what it means to “disturb mental security in society”.
